Who is Combate for?
Martial arts coaches, gym owners, and athletes who need a clear, flexible round timer that the whole room can read.
Can I use Combate with a TV?
Yes. With Combate Pro, connecting over AirPlay or HDMI gives you a dedicated external display built for the room — oversized digits, the current phase colour, the round count, and what comes next. It is a purpose-built screen rather than a mirror of your phone, so your controls stay private in your hand. You can also add your gym name to the display.
What is free, and what needs Combate Pro?
The timer itself is free: rounds, work and rest, Get Ready, per-phase sounds, vibration, background alerts, Keep Screen Awake, session history, and up to three saved presets. Combate Pro adds the external display, AirPlay tools, Auto-Pause Music, exact timer entry, built-in preset formats, and unlimited saved presets.
How much is Combate Pro?
Pro is $2.99 a month, $24.99 a year, or $39.99 once for lifetime access, in Canadian dollars. The App Store sets the equivalent price in your region. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and lifetime is a single purchase with nothing to renew. Full details are in the Terms of Use.
How do I restore a purchase?
Open Combate Pro from Settings and choose Restore Purchases. Pro is tied to your Apple Account, so it restores on any iPhone signed in to the same account. If it does not appear, check that you are signed in with the account used for the original purchase.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. Open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and select Combate. Cancelling stops future renewals and your access continues to the end of the period you already paid for. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled entirely by Apple through its own process, so we cannot issue them ourselves. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple Account that made the purchase. Your statutory rights under local consumer law are not affected.
Can I customize the round and rest times?
Yes. You can configure work time, rest time, Get Ready time, and the number of rounds. Combate Pro also lets you type an exact duration instead of stepping to it.
Can I save timer setups?
Yes. Save up to three custom presets for free, or unlimited presets with Combate Pro, which also includes built-in Tabata, EMOM, and interval formats. Applying a preset returns you to Home for review and never starts the timer automatically.
Do background alerts keep going on a very long session?
For almost any class, yes. iOS lets an app queue a fixed number of pending alerts, which works out to roughly 32 rounds of work and rest scheduled ahead. A long conditioning session or an infinite-rounds session left in the background can eventually run past that and go quiet. Opening Combate again re-arms the alerts from wherever the session has reached, and the on-screen timer stays accurate throughout either way.
Does Combate work without an account?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no login. Your settings, presets, favourites, sound choices, and session history are stored locally on your device.
Will the timer stay accurate in the background?
Combate uses wall-clock deadlines rather than counting ticks, and schedules local phase alerts when you allow notifications. Pausing or ending a session cancels the pending alert schedule.
